Maria del Carmen Barrón Sepúlveda, Tlazoxiuhpapalotl (Butterfly of Loving Energy), is a traditional Medicine woman and Grandmotherfrom Oaxaca, Mexico.
Abuela Maricarmen is part of the Council of Elders and coordinator for the state of Oaxaca. She performs ceremonies such as weddings (amarre de tilma), name-giving ceremonies (siembra de nombre), and temazkalli (sweatlodge) ceremonies. She also leads pilgrimages to sacred sites and perform various deep healing therapies.
